New cedar deck with railings and stepped post caps beside a shingled house

Decks, Fences & Exterior Carpentry in Belfast, ME

Cedar decks and fences, bulkhead entries, window trim and outside repairs in Belfast, ME, built by one carpenter to hold up through a Maine winter.

Decks, Fences & Exterior Carpentry

Outside work has to handle a Maine winter.

Both of my reviews so far are for fences. One was 100 feet of cedar. The other enclosed a yard for a couple's dogs and had to match the style of a fence that was already there. Both customers mention the same things: I came out quickly, worked steadily and was thorough.

Decks are the same kind of work. On one cedar deck I stepped the caps on the posts, ran the railings and built benches into the edge so there's seating without crowding the table.

I also handle the outside jobs that come up on older houses: a new bulkhead entry framed off the foundation and sheathed in ZIP panels, or new window trim on a shingled wall.

“We had hired John for a fencing project to help enclose a space for our dogs and build off an existing style of fence. He made it out to discuss the project very quickly and his availability to start the work was quick as well! The project came out amazing and he was very thorough with every step of the job. He quoted us a great price that was significantly better than our other quote. Without a doubt would recommend working with him and my wife and i know a dependable contractor for any other future projects. Extremely nice and friendly guy!”
